Life-of-Mine Planning & Fleet Sizing
Development of a long-term mine plan and definition of the mining fleet required to achieve production targets, integrating material movement, mine capacity, and equipment availability.
A long-term mine plan backed by a fleet sized to meet production targets
Meeting production targets requires alignment between the mine sequence, material movement, operating capacity, and equipment availability.
The study integrated these variables to develop a robust Life-of-Mine (LOM) plan and define fleet requirements throughout the project horizon.
Challenge, Scope & Value Delivered
Challenge
The operation required a robust long-term mine plan and a clear definition of the fleet needed to meet production targets, with alignment between material movement, mine capacity, and equipment availability.
Scope
The scope included development of the Life-of-Mine (LOM) plan for the open-pit operation, development and validation of the production sequence, estimation and sizing of the mining fleet, and verification that production capacity, material movement, and operating requirements remained consistent throughout the project horizon.
Value Delivered
The study provided a solid basis for long-term planning and a fleet estimate aligned with the projected production profile. This supported fleet-sizing decisions, provided visibility into future equipment requirements, and improved confidence in the mine plan.
A reliable mine plan with fleet requirements defined in advance
The evaluation linked the production schedule with material movement and equipment capacity, providing a consistent basis for capital planning, anticipating operating requirements, and strengthening execution of the Life-of-Mine plan.
